Our visit to FANA!

The orphanage where Tara came from!

Another emotional day as Tara and our new friend Chelsea Gardner (also a FANA child) visit the orphanage where they came from!

This is our 2nd time at FANA while it's Chelsea's (and husband Sean's 1st time).
*(Also Jessica's first time here!)

Camila (our guide) gave us the grand tour of this amazing facility! We were able to visit a number of children of different age groups from newborns to 5 & 6 years olds.  The older children were actually at dental appointments so we did not get to see them.

We also got to meet Maria Teresa Camargo de Maldonado - a long time 40 year employee of FANA and Coordinator of Adoptions!  A very nice lady who listened to Tara as she told her story!  Maria Teresa also gave us the information on how to obtain Tara's complete file at the ICBF!

*FANA has certainly come along way since Tara was there back in 1974.  In the beginning FANA was run out of an older house by founder Mercedes Martinez.  *In 1995 FANA moved into a new state of the art facility built by Mercedes husband Arturo.
Today FANA is run by Arturo and Mercedes daughter Elena Martinez!

*Also want to thank Nicole Culverhouse (Coordinator of the Colombian Adoptee Discover Me Tour) and John & Kara Telenga/and family for accompanying us on this very important visit!
