A REUNION 44 YEARS IN THE MAKING!

It's been 44 years since Tara and her Foster family Martha Wilches Mora & Lilia Wilches Mora have seen each other.

After Tara was abandoned in Colombia in February of 1974 Tara's parents had her moved from the FANA orphanage to the Wilches family home in the summer of 1974.
For a number of months the Wilches family took great care of her until she was officially adopted to the United States in September of 1974.

Over 4 decades later they are all reunited!

We were welcomed by their entire family last Saturday at Martha & Jorge's home in Tenjo Colombia but not before Martha's daughter Ana Maria and Lilia's son Camilo drove 90 minutes to come pick us up from our hostel!

After we arrived at Martha and Jorge's home the emotion that ensued was a sight to see!
After looking through an old baby book photo album they put together for Tara many years back we were treated to a wonderful Colombian lunch, then coffee at Ana Marie's home (which is just the next house over) and then to top things off Tara & Jessica got to ride their
Grand Champion show horse Atahualpa! 🐎

WHAT A GREAT DAY OUT IN THE COLOMBIAN COUNTRY SIDE!πŸ‡¨πŸ‡΄

This is a day we will never forget!

We definitely be back in the near future!

Thank you again Martha, Lilia, & Family!

Stay tuned for further updates; the top of Monseratte, out and about around Bogota, visiting Tara's biological cousin Gilma and her family, our visit to the FANA orphanage, Chicaque national park, Colombia's independence day parade, and all our new Colombian Friends!
