In and around Bogota!
LaCandalaria, Bolivar Square, Drinking the traditional "Chicha", GREAT COFFEE, etc.
A Great day for a great tour by our tour guide Paola.
We were able to see the old old old area of LaCandalaria - THE oldest part in all of Bogota!
We experienced "Chicha" - This fermented drink is a 400 year old tradition introduced by the Spaniards. But drink too much and you'll get tons of the runs! π©
Coffee 101 was also explained to us in a local cafe. Got to eat a few coffee beans, and sample some of the best coffee on the planet.
We also went to Bolivar Square - named after the Liberator of Colombia Simon Bolivar (July 20th, 1813) π¨π΄
We also saw where the President lives, where Congress resides, and where the Supreme Court does their judging!
In the square Jessica was able to ride a llama all dressed up in Colombian traditional clothing!
All kinds of stuff happening in the square. Kind of like old Las Vegas without the gambling. Lots of strange things.
Lastly we played a game of "Tejo" in one of the local bars with Paola. Tossing clay stones at a target. The object is to hit the 4 triangle targets filled with gunpowder. Guess what happens if you hit a target?
